Congratulations to Freddie Stone

Some of Penzance Mini Tennis stars were recently represented in the County Talent Identification days. ( Freddie Stone, Aimee Polyblank and Caner Bindiren.

After a good showing at the County Talent ID from Penzance FREDDIE STONE has been selected to go through to Regional talent ID in Bristol.

This is a fantastic achievement and includes the most promising talent from across the South West region.

Congratulations to all of our players and I hope we can keep improving as a club in being competitive across our region and ultimately the county.

PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

JUNIOR IMPROVER OF THE YEAR ( HESTOR LUKE )

Hestor has represented the Adult teams for the 2nd year running which helped gain an excellent place in the league table for the Ladies.

She has been taking part in many tournaments the Adult Club Championships this year and also the the County closed and the Junior Open held here at Penzance.

Hestor is always very Courteous and is well respected by other players.

Hestor is now benefiting from a new Performance squad and a new Individual programme at the club I feel she has real potential in the coming years.

First won all three events at the Penzance Adult Closed at the age of 12. First won her section final and got to the the main draw semi-final at the Penzance Adult Open at the age of 13.

First played under 14 grade 3 regional competitions at the age of 12 and has been in the top 50 under 14's nationally since then, despite still only being 13 with another year to go in this age range. Has consistently been in the top 20 under 13's nationally and has achieved a highest ranking of number 7 nationally.

At the end of the summer season, as in the professional circuit, there is Grand Prix Masters invitational tournament for the top 6 players nationally in each age group, who have achieved the most consistent successes throughout the season. The tournament is played at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton. This player came seventh nationally and was nominated as first reserve. Considering she still has another year to go at this age range and lives so far away from many tournaments, this is a fantastic achievement.
