Daily rules, regulations and requests

TO THE CLUBHOUSE

  • A no smoking policy operates within the Clubhouse and Club premises
  • No dogs are allowed in the Clubhouse and only allowed on the Terrace, or within the grounds, if on a leash. Dogs leading blind or partially sighted patrons are allowed to all areas
  • Food and drink may not be consumed in the Clubhouse unless purchased from the ‘First Service Café and Bar’
  • Please respect all furniture, fittings and equipment
  • Please keep the changing areas tidy and report anything you feel may be hazardous, to a member of staff or committee member
  • During cold weather please ensure that all external doors are not left open
  • Bikes are not allowed in or through the Clubhouse
  • If you believe you are the last to leave please ensure the back door (leading to the Terrace) is locked and that the main door locks behind you

TO THE COURTS

  • If you believe you are the last to leave the court, please ensure that the net is lowered after play
  • When raising the net please do not use undue force on the handle putting excessive tension on the posts. This damages the foundation supporting the net posts. Adjust the centre tape
  • Do not take glass bottles on to the courts
  • Chewing gum should not be consumed on court and should be disposed with care
  • Bikes, pushchairs and anything likely to damage the surface should not be taken on to the courts. Wheelchairs, however, are allowed
  • For your safety, please respond to any request made by the Groundsman
  • If you find anything you consider to be hazardous please make a report to a member of staff or a committee member
  • If you are last off the courts please ensure the gates lock behind you
  • Do not open gates on to a court when play is in progress
  • Do not walk across the back of a court when play is in progress
  • Do not attempt to retrieve a ball from another court when play is in progress
  • When booking a court consecutive sessions are not allowed. A member may play consecutively on invitation
  • If you cannot effect a booking cancellation by visiting the Club please telephone the Club as soon as possible

TO THE MEMBERS

  • Members are requested to observe the rules relating to court booking with due reference to the notice above the booking sheets and the annotation on the sheets themselves
  • Members may introduce a guest to the Club, subject to a maximum of five visits in any one year, and after payment of a fee as advertised on the visitor’s book. The visitor’s book must be signed by the visitor and the member
  • Members are obliged to inform the Secretary of any change of address as soon as possible
  • The Club is open to the public for play on payment of the hourly fee as advertised on the visitor’s book
  • All players must wear tennis shoes when on court and clothing appropriate for the game of tennis
  • Members are expected to observe the highest of common courtesies both on court and within the Clubhouse and grounds
